Questions We Hear Often

Traditional saunas use a stove heater to warm the air and generate steam, creating the classic high-heat, high-humidity environment associated with centuries of sauna culture. Infrared saunas use radiant panels to warm the body more directly at lower ambient temperatures. The right choice comes down to personal preference — many people are drawn to the authentic ritual and intensity of traditional steam heat.

Most of our outdoor sauna cabins and barrel saunas are designed to be assembled by the customer using the included components and instructions. Electrical connections — particularly for 220V or 240V stove heaters — should always be handled by a licensed electrician in accordance with your local building codes. We recommend reviewing the product specifications before purchase so you can plan accordingly.

Wood selection matters both aesthetically and functionally. Our traditional saunas are crafted from woods such as natural spruce and Canadian hemlock — species chosen for their stability in high-heat, high-humidity environments, their resistance to warping, and their naturally appealing finish. The wood you choose will shape the look, feel, and longevity of your sauna over time.

We offer Free Shipping on Most Orders Within the Continental U.S. (Excludes AK/HI). Due to their size, saunas typically ship via freight carrier, and delivery details will be confirmed at checkout. About Our Traditional Saunas

Traditional saunas have been a cornerstone of intentional wellness culture for centuries, and for good reason. Built around the simple, time-honored principle of steam heat, they create an environment designed to support deep relaxation, mental stillness, and a meaningful pause from the demands of daily life. Unlike newer technologies, the traditional sauna experience is rooted in ritual — the warmth of natural wood, the rise of steam, and the unhurried sense of restoration that follows. Today, traditional saunas are available in a range of formats suited to different spaces and lifestyles, from compact indoor cabins ideal for a spare room or basement to weatherproof outdoor structures designed for a backyard or garden. When choosing a traditional sauna, consider the size of the space you have available, the number of users, whether you prefer an indoor or outdoor setting, and the electrical requirements of the heater. Material quality, wood species, insulation, and door design all contribute to the long-term experience and durability of your investment. A well-chosen sauna becomes a lasting part of how you live.
